Sunnyside events centre
The Sunnyside Community Centre is located on a promontory facing south and overlooking Bull Arm, Trinity Bay. This place has the distinction of being the first recorded meeting between the Europeans and Native Beothuks. Bull Arm is now the site of Off Shore Gravity Base Oil Drilling Platforms.
The concept design options take advantage of the panoramic vistas. The covered main entrance opens onto a generous foyer, interpretation and public function area.
The Community Centre has multi-function purposes that will enhance the lifestyle of Sunnyside residents. These areas include:
- Exterior landscaped areas to permit community events
- Grand Foyer and Interpretation Areas
- Town Council Chambers and Offices
- Wellness Centre for Community Groups
- Gymnastics Performance Space
- Kitchen and Servery
- Backup Power Generation
